Cozy up in this inviting restaurant, Brasswood, in St. Helena. Whether you’re tucked away in the warm, comforting booths, or in a royally tall chair outside, Brasswood will have you feeling satisfied from your aperitif to your digestif. The must have dish on the menu is the made in house mozzarella crustini. Your waiter will pull apart the soft, gooey cheese at your table; making the crustini that much more fresh when served.
If you haven’t gotten your cheese fix yet, try the delicious arancini risotto balls stuffed with more of that fresh mozzarella. It is smothered in a classic tomato bolognese sauce. Keeping with the Italian theme, the rigatoni alla amatriciana and the herb infused paperdelle and short rib sugo are definitely just two of many to try. The rigatoni is covered in a guancile (cured meat) tomato sauce with caramelized onions and topped with some delicate herbed ricotta. The intensely rich mushroom, short rib, Cabernet sugo in herbed papperdelle is so divine.
A meal like that wouldn’t be complete without an equally decadent dessert. The chocolate truffle torte is an exquisite flourless chocolate cake that pairs perfectly with its accompaniments of blackberries and raspberries topped with vanilla ice cream. A meal surrounded by friends and family with simple, good food is just what Brasswood is all about.
