If you are traveling to either of our Calistoga bed and breakfasts, via Santa Rosa, Bird and The Bottle is a must see for a quick bite or cocktail before heading over the hill.
This new gem is one of the Stark Restaurant Groups latest creations. It features Southern American, Asian and Jewish influenced food in a contemporary and sophisticated back drop. Located just off downtown Santa Rosa, this place is a great option for casual bar dining after a long day at work, or for a more intimate setting on a romantic date night.
I stopped by here after doing some shopping, and was very pleased with the experience I had. You are greeted right away at the front desk with the option of sitting in the bar, dining room or outside on the gorgeous patios. We opted to sit at the bar and grab a few snacks.
The fried chicken skins were hands down my favorite dish. They serve them with sautéed onion, chilis and herbs. It was the perfect balance of flavors and textures. Next, we tried the chicken liver mousse which was accompanied by pickled onions, honey glaze and smoked salt. The preparation on the mousse was very classic with a current twist on the presentation. Other dishes we tried were fried chicken sliders, kimchi deviled eggs and three times fried potatoes.
This style of restaurant is right up my alley because it allows you to try various dishes consisting of an array of cultural influences, techniques, variety of flavors and textures in a casual yet classic setting.
