Gott's Roadside dinerOn a hot sunny day, nothing beats a cold milkshake and a classic burger and fries. With its outdoor seating, Gotts Roadside in St. Helena is a notable pit-stop for any hungry tourist. As you’re driving along the valley, hopping from one winery to the next, you’ll notice a line of people zigzagging around the red picnic tables. Gotts is a popular spot with several dozen people lining up for its spin on American classics at any given time. Pictured below is the Wisconsin Sourdough. Made with 100% Angus beef that is vegetarian fed from Niman Ranch with no hormones or antibiotics, this burger comes with griddled mushrooms, bacon, cheddar cheese, mayo and BBQ sauce on toasted sourdough bread. They had no trouble making the side half fries and half onion rings. Wash it all down with the most delicious coffee shake. If the sun gets too bright there are umbrellas on every picnic table, or if the wind picks up and there’s a chill, there’s heat lamps attached to the covered high-top bar. Only 15 minutes from our Napa Valley inns, Gotts Roadside is an essential part of any tourists itinerary. The St. Helena establishment is one of three locations. The others are located in Napa next to the Oxbow Market, and in San Francisco in the Ferry Building. Check them out and let us know what you think!
